About
About ATX Tech News Now
ATX Tech News Now is an independent read on the Austin, Texas technology scene — the companies that moved here, the chip fabs going up in the suburbs, the startups, and the people landing with a one-way ticket. We try to say plainly what's happening, hype stripped out.
What this site covers
We follow Austin tech the way a local would: the relocations and expansions, the semiconductor build-out north of town, the venture money and the layoffs, and the policy fights over power, water and tax incentives that decide what actually gets built. The wire carries the running news; the company and manufacturing sections keep the players straight.
How we read it
Austin is a genuine boomtown, and boomtowns attract a lot of breathless coverage. Our bias is the opposite — toward what is real, what is merely announced, and what the boom costs the people already here. We write our own words and make our own calls about what matters. We don't republish anyone else's rankings or "best of" lists.
Who publishes this
ATX Tech News Now is part of the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin publisher that has been building websites since 1996. The network spans more than a hundred sites, each focused on a single subject, all built to be useful and free of clutter — no pop-ups, no paywalls, no autoplay.
Agents First
This site is built Agents First — designed to be read and used by AI agents as well as people. See AGENTS.md, llms.txt, and the read API.
